Top 5 iOS Reference Apps in Africa Q4 2023

Throughout the fourth quarter of 2023, the top 5 iOS reference apps in Africa, namely Google Translate, Bible, Oxford Dictionary, Muslim Pro: Quran Athan Prayer, and The English Dictionary Offline, demonstrated diverse trends in terms of downloads, active users, and revenue.

Google Translate showed a stable performance in weekly downloads, starting the quarter at around 21K and peaking at approximately 22.6K in early October. However, there was a gradual decline towards the end of the quarter, ending with around 17.5K downloads. Active users for the app remained strong, fluctuating between 1.07M and 1.16M throughout the quarter.

Revenue for the app showed an overall positive trend, peaking at $547 in the week of October 23rd. Active users remained relatively stable, fluctuating around 13K throughout the quarter.

Muslim Pro: Quran Athan Prayer experienced a stable increase in weekly downloads, starting at 4.8K and peaking at 6.5K by the end of December. Revenue trends were also positive, with weekly revenue reaching $599 in the final week of December. Active user numbers remained consistent, hovering around 112K to 123K.

The English Dictionary Offline had a notable spike in downloads in late November, reaching approximately 47.5K. This was a significant increase compared to the earlier weeks of the quarter, where downloads were almost negligible.
